It is estimated that over 99.9% of all species that ever lived are extinct. The average lifespan of a species is from 1 to 10 million years (absolute time), although this varies widely by species. A variety of causes can contribute directly or indirectly to the extinction of a species or group of species, e.g. asteroids, changing climate, food supplies or a "supernatural cause".
Time has shown that the “cone of increasing diversity” is now turned upside down. Specifically, the time of the greatest diversity of species occurred in the Cambrian strata, not in the present.
Life appears engineered, according to a plan, and not an accidental occurrence.
And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.

Some claim that "animals having bilaterally symmetrical bodies (the same on both sides along an axis) permit them to propel forward in a straight line. In "evolutionary" history, animals that moved quickly and efficiently from point A to point B would have been more successful than those who were ineffective at locomoting". This sounds reasonable until you consider the radial symmetry of a starfish, or the sea horse, the octopus or jellyfish. Remember, in order for evolutionary theory to be valid it must account for all variations of life forms, not ignore the ones that don't fit their illogical explanations.
